Bringing Behavioural Finance Into Your Classroom
BiasIQ masterclasses and workshops help universities build a career-ready talent pipeline for India’s growing fintech and wealthtech space.
BIASIQ GUEST MASTERCLASSES
What We Cover
Eight core ideas that take behavioural finance from classroom concept to applied, industry-ready skill.
Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO)
Why flawed robo-advisory models fail before the algorithm even runs.
Stated vs. Revealed Preferences
What clients say they want, versus what their behaviour actually reveals.
Traditional vs. Behavioural Risk Profiling
Two lenses for reading the same client in fundamentally different ways.
The Return-Satisfaction Paradox
Why good returns alone don’t buy loyalty, also known as the “trust paradox”.
Prospect Theory
Satisfaction depends on a psychological reference point, not absolute returns.
Risk Tolerance vs. Loss Aversion
Two metrics that sound similar but measure completely different things.
Cognitive, Emotional & Psychological Biases
The biases behind every financial decision your clients and students make.
WealthTech: Market, Gaps & Opportunities
Where investor behaviour meets the fastest-growing frontier in fintech.
OUR AUDIENCE
Who Is It For?
Whether you’re heading into advisory, product, or research, the work eventually comes down to investor behaviour.
BBA & MBA Students
Marketing and finance students building toward careers in banking, NBFCs, fintech, asset management, and insurance.
Computer Science & IT Students
B.Tech, BCA, MCA, and MSc (CS) students designing wealthtech, insurtech, and fintech products investors actually use.
Psychology Students
Turning decision science and investor psychology into a tangible, hireable skill for advisory and wealth tech roles.
Commerce Students
Sharpening applied behavioural finance skills that stand out in placement interviews, well beyond just a resume line.
The Opportunity
Your Students Are Entering One of the Fastest-Growing Markets in the World
India’s financial services sector is not just growing. It is restructuring around behavioural intelligence, and the talent gap is widening faster than institutions are filling it.
The Market
The Gap
Every segment of this market, from first-time digital investors to ultra-high-net-worth clients, needs advisors, product teams, and researchers who understand how people make financial decisions. That is the gap your students can fill, if the curriculum gives them the tools.
WHAT WE OFFER
Programmes Built Around How Academic Institutions Actually Work
We do not expect institutions to restructure a degree programme to work with us. Our formats are designed to fit inside existing academic structures, with as much or as little commitment as makes sense for your institution right now.
| Format | Duration | Best Suited For | What Students Take Away |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guest masterclass | 1–2 hrs | Introducing the field across a cohort | Exposure to real client behaviour and career paths |
| Workshop series | 1–2 days | Final year & placement-focused batches | Applied bias recognition and interview readiness |
| Certificate module | 6–8 hrs | Students seeking a specialisation edge | A credential recruiters recognise |
| Full semester elective | Semester | Programmes ready to formalise the subject | Deep, assessed competence in the field |
| Research collaboration | Ongoing | Faculty and PhD scholars | Publishable work on live behavioural data |
STUDENT OUTCOMES
Skills That Show Up on Day One of the Job
Every programme we run is built for application, not just awareness. Students leave with tools they can use immediately, in interviews, in client conversations, and on the job.
Applied Bias Recognition
Spot cognitive and emotional biases in real investor situations.
Interview Readiness
Answer scenario-based behavioural questions that are now standard in hiring.
Expanded Career Clarity
A clear map of roles in advisory, wealth tech, product, and research.
Practical Communication Skills
Hold productive conversations with investors driven by fear or overconfidence.
The BiasIQ Certificate
Recognised by industry partners across India’s financial services sector.
INSTITUTION BENEFITS
A Partnership That Builds Value Beyond the Classroom.
This is not a one-time engagement. Every programme we run creates compounding value for the institution, its students, faculty, and industry relationships.
Placement Differentiation
Students with applied behavioural finance exposure arrive at interviews with something specific and demonstrable. Recruiters notice, and they return to campus because of it.
Alignment With NEP 2025
Behavioural finance is applied, multidisciplinary, and outcome-oriented, fitting every dimension of what NEP 2025 pushes institutions toward, including demonstrable career outcomes.
A Stronger Programme Narrative
A programme that visibly teaches where the industry is heading carries real weight with prospective students, accreditation bodies, and institutional rankings.
Industry Connections That Compound
BiasIQ’s work spans banks, AMCs, wealth platforms, and fintech companies, creating natural channels for student projects, internships, and placement relationships.
Research Output With Genuine Originality
Access to live Indian investor behaviour data gives faculty and scholars material that is publishable, practically significant, and underrepresented in existing literature.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this require changing the existing syllabus?
Not to start. Guest masterclasses and workshop series sit entirely outside the existing syllabus. Certificate modules and full electives involve more coordination, and we support institutions through that process. Credit integration is a longer pathway and we are transparent about what timelines look like.
Is this relevant for engineering students, or only finance students?
Both. Engineering students heading into fintech and wealth tech product roles need this knowledge as much as finance students do. We adjust the framing and examples depending on the cohort.
What does a research collaboration involve practically?
A scoped project, access to relevant BiasIQ data drawn from industry partnerships, and a structured collaboration between BiasIQ’s research team and institutional faculty or scholars. Output formats include working papers, co-authored research, and inputs to industry white papers.
Can BiasIQ deliver sessions remotely?
Yes. Guest masterclasses and workshop series are available in person and online. Full electives and faculty development programmes are typically in person or hybrid, depending on institutional preference.
How long before placement outcomes reflect this?
Most institutions see a difference within the same placement cycle following a workshop series or certificate module. Students who have practiced behavioural interview scenarios have a demonstrable edge in interviews.
